Top 5 Ways Of Increasing Google AdSense CTR

Increasing your Google Adsense Click Through Rate (CTR) is the best way to increase your earnings from your blog or website, and often takes much less work than increasing your blog traffic since it can be done entirely by you. Google AdSense Optimisation relies on two things: Making sure your ads are as valuable as possible to your audience, and integrating those ads with your website on the most favourable way to get more clicks. Try following 5 Adsense optimisation tips and you’ll soon notice a difference on your AdSense earnings.

Write Longer Posts (But Not Too Long)

Google AdSense works better when Google has something to work with, and this means writing enough content for the search engine to figure out what your article or blog post is about. This will also help increase your CTR by engaging your audience, and by helping your position on the search engines. The suggested length is between 500 and 1000 words, so you may want to split longer posts into several pages or even different articles focused on specific aspects. If you are starting an affiliate marketing business make sure you write unique content for your posts instead of the default publisher descriptions, since that will also increase your traffic from search engines and keep your visitors engaged.

Optimise Your Content With Synonyms

Google looks at the content of your page to chose what AdSense relevant ads to place. To increase your CTR rate you must make sure those ads are closely related to your content, so use both your chosen keywords and synonyms so Google knows exactly what that particular page is about. Make sure you sprinkle your main keyword generously around the page, and use synonyms to reinforce it without sounding too repetitive. This is specially helpful if you are targeting keywords with more than one meaning, and for some reason the ads keep referring to an unrelated topic.

Filter Out Irrelevant Ads

If for some reason there’s some ads that still appear on your articles, but which you find totally irrelevant, remember that you can filter what advertisers can publish on your websites from your Google AdSense account. You can sign up for the Ad Review centre from your Google Adsense account, by visiting Allow & block ads and following the Ad Review link, but it takes a bit to be approved. Your best option to get more AdSense relevant ads is to block ads by General Categories and even particular Advertiser URLs.

Test Your Ad Placement And Type

Make sure your ads are clearly above the fold, and can be seen even by users who don’t scroll since maybe an ad will provide an answer to your visitor’s problem (and get you a click!). Many people also recommend vertical ads as having higher Adsense CTR, and image ads having higher click values than text only ones, so you may want to play with the type of ads that you are displaying. You can try moving badly performing ads around, and even changing their colour and background to see if results improve. This may also help keep your regular visitors from developing add blindness.

Match Colours And Styles

One of the best ways of increasing Google AdSense CTR is making sure the adds look like they are part of your website, and this can be done by making sure your AdSense ads colour scheme matches the rest of your site, and their fonts also match your site as closely as possible. Just make sure the ads are clearly marked as ads, because if Google thinks that you tried to trick users into clicking they made just ban your AdSense account.

These Google AdSense Optimization tips help you increase your Adsense Click Through Rate and your earnings at your website, without requiring lots of technical knowledge to implement or being affected by third party decisions. By implementing them you can increase your blog’s income easily.

I love how you put together these useful tips. But it seems that you have not talked about how to increase CTR. I wonder how some clicks pay better than others.

      Hello!
Usually you can try to make sure your content has keywords that have a high click value according to Google Keyword Tool, and hope those keywords are the ones triggering ads. But CTR is the number of clicks you get for your number of impressions, if it’s low no matter how much they pay you won’t make much money :)
